Process to Become an Approved Volunteer

If you are a Manager (1 per team) or Assistant Coach (1-2 per team), please follow these steps:

1.  Register to Manage/Assistant Coach here (unless you've already registered when registering your son/daughter):  Login/Register

2.  Complete Background Check: Notify your Team's Manager that you have registered to volunteer.  Team Manager (and only the Manager) will compile a team list of volunteers (typically 5-10 volunteers per team) and will email that list to Woodinville Little League at [email protected].  Within a few days each person should then receive an invitation to complete your Background Check through JDP.  The Background check is completed through JDP and can not be reached through the Blue Sombrero website - you must have an individualized link forwarded to you from the Safety Officer.  Please send volunteer list in excel sheet provided here: Background Check Template.  The information needed to send the link is First Name, Middle Name, Last Name and email address for each volunteer. 

3.  Sign In/Register and Complete On-line Training for Concussions here:  NFHS - Concussion in Sports

4.  Sign In/Register and Complete On-line Training for Sudden Cardiac Arrest here:  NFHS - Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training

5.  Attend March Positive Coaching Alliance Training (Mandatory)

6.  Send Concussions & Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certificates into WLL Safety Officer:  [email protected]

7.  Identification badges will be provided to each on-field volunteer who has completed their background checks and has had their photo taken. These are to be worn at all times while on the field. The badges will be distributed to your Manager or via US mail.

If you are a Practice Helper Coach, Umpire, or Dugout Helper
, please follow these steps:

1.  Register to Volunteer here (unless you've already registered when registering your son/daughter):  Login/Register

2.  Notify your Team's Manager that you have registered to volunteer.  The team manager will compile a team list of volunteers and the Manager will email that list to Woodinville Little League. Then within a few days you should receive an invitation to complete your Background Check from JDP. The Background check is completed through JDP and can not be reached through the Blue Sombrero website - you must have an individualized link forwarded to you from the Safety Officer. The information that you need to send to your manager is your (First Name, Middle Name, Last Name and email address).
